Fashion with a Story

April 11, 2017 - April 28, 2017,

[2nd Floor]

This exhibition presents two fashion lines by designer Iva Pfeiffer, The Refugee Collection and Fall 2017, which was shown during Mercedes Fashion Week in NY. Includes designer’s talk about her philosophy, journey and the fashion industry. Witness Iva Pfeiffer’s story and love affair with Asia and the Middle East evolve through these two different but similarly inspired collections of fashion and art.

Refugee Collection

The first is a deeply moving and stirring picture of the stories of one of the world’s most marginalised and misunderstood groups – refugees. In this collection, the body is the canvas and the clothing the art. It strives to capture and show the experiences and emotions of forced migrants from Asia and the Middle East.

Fall 17

The second collection is an evolution of that preoccupation with Asia, contrasting the first with a more conservative Western perspective of the Orient with ready-to-wear fashion sensibilities.

Refugees are coming from East to West. They are affecting our lives, we are affecting them. A mix of cultures, designs and styles. The Fall 17 collection is the result of mixure of styles. Pearls and camel hair are typical for East but used for westernized style of garment.
