September 12, 2017 , 7:00 - 10:00 PM

How do we communicate through the same way we communicate through language? How does improvisation in dance allow us to live in the moment and experience an expressive journey both physically and emotionally?

This workshop is aimed at dancers and performers who are interested in a deep-fledged meeting with the dance language of Jiri Bartovanec. Participants will learn about where ideas and impetus for the movements come from through a physical, emotional and expressive journey led by Bartovanec who has worked with Sasha Waltz for over fourteen years. That vocabulary will be the trigger to create new material in an Improvisation frame.

Jiri Bartovanec, A dancer and choreographer who has worked with Sasha Waltz since 2003.
